Haven't seen enough of him at wing to know if he could permanently shift. If we didn't already have Lokti, I'd want to take a stab at him, but not sure if his skill set is what we need.

I'd definitely take a stab at him. I watched him in Barrie 20+ times during his draft year. Kid has so much talent. Can play PK, etc. too.

Todd, you do a really nice job with your scouting reports. I think they are spot-on.

I would love for us to grab him he could easily replace Sullivan, Poni, D'agostini, and is a lot younger then all of them with a very high ceiling. I have totally given up on both Teddy and Josefson and Burmy is further along then both of those guys. He will cost more then the sixth or fifth we gave up for Lokti but I would almost think he is more of a sure thing then Lokti is they are both still gambles on what they fully become, but that could be a dangerous line of Lokti Burmy and Kovy.

Guy is a noticable thorn in our side whenever we play the Jets. The kind of player you love when he's on your team but absolutely hate when he's not. I'd think there are 29 other GM's that want him too?

good article, Todd.

I would be interested to see Burmistrov on the team with Kovy. I think a veteran Russian player like Kovy would do wonders for Burmistrov as well as having the added benefit of Kovy playing with a creative player who can keep up with him in terms of speed.

I was high on him during his draft too, but had no idea why Atlanta kept him in his first year. Its not that I don't think that he can regain some of his potential, but I'd rather get someone a bit better on the forecheck or a little more established to play on the left of Kovy. I guess I'm running under the assumption that Elias and Clarkson will be back, which is far from guaranteed. If more holes open up, definitely worth a look.

Also, love these blogs on potential targets.

He's definitely talented, but we are already deep at center and as I said in my earlier post, not sure how his game would translate to the wing.

Are we though we finally have a bunch of guys who play centre and do it better then what we had been used to for a bit there but really I think we could improve on at least 3 of either Lokti, Josefson, or Zajac I like to keep Henrique in the untouchable category for now he might slip out after next year and we can only do harm by changing CBGB line so Gionta can stay but outside of that they all good be better IMO and maybe Burmy can play the wing quite well on an all Russian line where there might be instant chemistry

But what are we going to do with them? If we trade any of those three we are most likely not going to get good value back, all for a risky project.

Do you guys like Lokti as your long term option with Kovy? Because Max Domi would fit like a glove with him, from a pure skill set perspective. I know Todd doesn't think that Domi's personality fits with the Devils, but he is an 18 year old kid. It still would not shock me if he is your pick on draft day.

That is true from a what to do with them prospective because you are right you would not get anything for them unless a team wants to take a chance on them as a throw in or sweetner for a bigger deal they are even good enough for that lol Lets just take a chance on him and pray he works on the wing

Still unproven, but I think the hope is that he develops into the long term option, but its obviously still a risk. If we do go center, I think it will be someone a bit higher ranked.

After that game they just played wow am I not sold on them but it will pass I am sure but they really did look more like the throw in host team then a league champ against the moose I am personally more interested in Zadarov even though one of the last things we need is another D prospect with our high first rounder

I think Loktionov could be a long-term option. He's definitely a good option now, anyways. I like Domi but as I said I'm not sure the Devils will like his personality. Though, they did select Merrill and Matteau who have had some issues.

Would definitely like to try out Burmistrov at LW with Kovy. We deperately need to find someone on the left side to play on the top line because we haven't gotten enough production from Kovy at even strength. I'd be willing to give up Josefson, mostly because we have good depth at center and Burmistrov could shift to center if we have an injury.

Funny enough, I was looking at possible people to play with Kovalchuk before the Loktionov deal and found Burmistrov's name early in the season.

I'd say he has a pretty good chance of getting a good look by the Devils.

I'd love to have him, but I just dont know what we'd have to offer that another interested suitor couldn't easily match. I could see Merrill coming back to bite us big time if we shipped him off now
